Taken on the deserted West Coast of South Africa, this series of images provide a framework within which to experience the moment that precedes the point of no return.

I explore the idea of salt becoming a dominant element over air or water. Walking along an isolated beach on a skeleton of coast, enveloped in thick mist, barren of life, the character in this series is consumed with thoughts of events and emotions that leave a toxic trace within. It's as if the earth she grew from was salted. As was the air, of which she is an extension.

She walked the line…nothing we could have said or done would have changed anything. It’s as if the earth upon which she walked was salted. In search for her essence her journey had become elemental but salt rather than water was the element driving her.
